When originally approached with the challenge of lighting Radium Girls, I knew I would have to separate the same areas of the stage into multiple different locations - using colour and texture to differentiate. I quickly settled upon a 3-part frontlight system - R3204 straight fronts, R60 HL Box Fills, and R333 HR Box Fills, which allowed me to pick a cool colour, warm colour, or mix to lavender with the three depending on the scene. Rosco 53 (Pale Lavender) was a clear choice for my deck templates, which provided warmth when dim, but also a cool temperature which mixes well with LED toplights when at higher intensities. Additionally, key lighting some scenes with my R55 and N/C highsides provided significant contrast when needed. While I am a student who is always learning new techniques, I knew that this Rosco colour palette was perfect to compliment the other design aspects of this show.
